The Client
I met Neurun CEO, Cade Netscher, for the first time while working with Paradigm in Raleigh, NC. He engaged myself and the Paradigm team in a project to update his brand and create a digital experience that helped runners prepare for races using video tagged with coaching notes.
Over the next several years we worked together to build-out the platform and assisted Cade as he traveled to Germany and to France to participate in an accelerator program in partnership with Adidas.
After Cade’s contract with Paradigm ended, he and I continued to collaborate, and I eventually joined the team as the Director of Design Experience.
Today we continue to partner together on new technologies and experiences that make running more accessible to all.

The Process
Our initial engagement with Neurun involved analyzing the experience Cade had built since he founded the company and positioning his brand for success in the market. We conducted a brand audit and competitive analysis and provided recommendations for how to update his branding materials to best reflect Neurun’s mission.
I put these brand materials to use creating the first draft of Neurun’s digital experience. Starting with featuring mapping and continuing into information architecture design and wireframing, we created the user experience and interface for a mobile app that runners could download to find races and view race video.
The creation of the mobile app helped Neurun catch the attention of additional investors and organizations, which eventually lead to a partnership with Adidas at their Station F campus in Paris.
Over the course of a few months, I worked with the Neurun to team to expand the platform into a digital hub that not only featured race video, but included travel and gear recommendations as well as tips for improving your performance and taking care of yourself after an injury.
Our first major pilot for Adidas was for the Paris Marathon, where we displayed a kiosk and route map for participants with Adidas’ head of running in Paris.
Neurun’s technology has continued to grow and develop over the past few years, especially with advancements in the development of AI. Throughout this time I’ve been working to create user journeys, experiences, prototypes, pitch decks and presentations that engage additional stakeholders and opportunities for growth.
The Final Product
Over the course of 7 years, I’ve worked with Neurun to create a brand, design a mobile app, evolve a UX strategy and expand into new markets.
I work today to imagine future experiences that connect outdoor enthusiasts with routes, gear recommendations, brand partners and coaching, all with the help of AI.
Neurun continues to expand to this day and is now focused on personalizing experiences not just for runners, but for any outdoor fitness activity.
